Expertise

Neben dem Ausbau der Krankenversorgung und der Lehre wurde als dritter wesentlicher Bestandteil einer Universitätsklinik damit begonnen, eine effiziente Forschungs- infrastruktur aufzubauen. Das bisherige Forschungsspektrum basierend auf der Tumorzellbiologie, der Angioneogenese, der Fehlbildungschirurgie und dem Einsatz neuartiger resorbierbarer Materialien wurde deutlich erweitert und in den Rahmen weiterer fakultärer Schwerpunkte (Immunologie) und auch gesamtuniversitärer Schwerpunkte (e-Learning) gestellt. Weiterer wichtiger Aspekt war eine zunehmende Vernetzung auch mit der nahegelegenen TU Darmstadt und der Universitätsklinik Mainz für den Bereich der angewandten Materialwissenschaften und mit der Europa- fachhochschule Fresenius in Idstein im Bereich der kognitiven Sprechwissenschaften.
